Charlie looked around the cafeteria. Everyone was sitting with there friends or there boyfriends slash girlfriends. Charlie however sat alone. She didn't really have any friends, because she hadn't taken the time to make them, nor did she have a boyfriend. Guys didn't seem interested in her. They didn't even give her a second look in the hall. It couldn't be that she wasn't pretty cause she was. She wasn't the greatest looking girl on the planet but she had looks.
Charlie sort of wished she had a friend, more so a boyfriend, but she didn't know how to obtain either. Guys didn't want her and she didn't know what to say when someone tried to start a conversation. She usually starts off rude and no one tends to give her a chance to get past that. It is not something she can stop all of a sudden, she has to loosen up to you before she becomes nice, but no one has ever stuck around that long.

Dustin walked into the cafeteria with his walkman blaring Black Flag into his ears, he walked to and empty table in the corner, not much further from where Charlie was sitting, he pulled his crappy sack lunch out of his backpack and began pulling his items of food out of it.

Charlie looked over to the guy that sat down at the table close to her. She didn't long though, she didn't want him to think that she was starring at him. Though she occasionally glanced back to him between eating her lunch.

Dustin looked up from his food, he had noticed that the girl at the table near by was looking at him from time to time. He smirked at her as he took a bite of his sandwich.

Charlie noticed a slight smirk in her direction and quickly turned back to her food. She forced herself not to look back his direction for fear that he saw her looking at him. Way to go being creepy she thought to herself.

He continued smirking as he picked up his stuff and walked over to her table and sat across from her "Hey, whats up?" He asked before eating the last bite of his sandwich, and then starting on his potato chips.

Charlie looked up at him as he sat down across from her at the table. She wasn't sure if she should respond, for fear that she was going to stick her foot in her mouth and make a fool of herself. "Nothing much," She finally got out, "What's up with you?" She asked back, knowing it was the polite thing to do.

"The same" He said with a shrug "But I noticed you were sitting alone and I was sitting alone so I figured, why not sit together" He added with a nod.

Charlie felt herself about to say something stupid, something she didn't mean but it was habit, and for some reason she couldn't stop herself. "What if I like sitting alone?" She asked. "I mean it could be a possibility." She said a little more fun and light hearted to make him realize she was indicating for him to go away.

"Well, you didn't say that you didn't or not" He said with a shrug and a sly smirk.
